UA History & Out of State Students

The majority of the 2012-13 freshman class at UA was comprised of out-of-state and international students for the first time in university history. Jordan Kindred, a Texan, assesses challenges of teaching UA's history to these students. After conducting focus group research, Jordan has designed a pamphlet (see below) and proposes using freshman orientation to help educate newly arrived UA students to the rich, complex, important history of their future alma mater. Check out her pamphlet below.
"Based on the group member's answers regarding their knowledge of UA history as out of state students, I can infer that almost all out of state students have a similarly minimal baseline understanding of the history the university and desire to know more."  - Jordan Kindred (2013)
