Sport: Not Just Games

It takes about two minutes on UA campus to realize that we LOVE our sports teams -- football remains the kingpin but avid (if not crazed) fans exist in strong numbers for gynmnastics, softball, men's and women's basketball, all the way to our national championship golf teams!  But what is it about sport that pulls out such strong emotions, pride, and endless t-shirt designs? Students in this section address sport as a power-laden, highly influential realm of social experience that touches on race, class, gender, sexuality, nationality, religion and more. Forgotten Heroes?
UA's First Black Football Players
